our story

Spring of Hope Counseling was founded by Eryca Swan, LMHC, out of a deep belief that healing happens when people feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to grow, and empowered enough to begin again.

Eryca’s passion for counseling began years ago while leading teen discussion groups in her community. What started as a space for young people to talk openly about life, identity, relationships, faith, and emotional pain became the foundation for her lifelong work in mental health. Those early conversations shaped her belief that people do not need judgment, pressure, or perfection in order to heal. They need compassion, safety, truth, and support.

The name Spring of Hope carries personal and historical meaning. It honors Eryca’s family’s home church, Spring of Hope, founded by her uncle during the civil rights era as a place of belonging, dignity, and renewal for marginalized and oppressed communities. Inspired by that same legacy, Spring of Hope Counseling was created as a modern space for emotional restoration, fresh starts, and renewed hope.

At Spring of Hope Counseling, therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care. Eryca supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, life transitions, self-worth struggles, emotional overwhelm, and the process of reconnecting with themselves. Her approach combines clinical skill with genuine human connection, helping clients move beyond survival and toward clarity, healing, confidence, and meaningful change.

Clients of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities are welcome here. For those who want faith or spirituality included in therapy, that can be honored. For those who do not, therapy remains fully grounded in clinical care, emotional safety, and each client’s personal values.

Spring of Hope Counseling exists for anyone who needs a place to breathe, heal, and remember that even after the hardest seasons, new life can begin.
